What are all-on-4 dental implants?

All-On-4 dental implants use four to six implant root replacements to support an entire arch of teeth. This means that we need four to six implants for the upper jaw of your mouth and four to six implants for the lower jaw if you want a whole set of implants. Your replacement teeth attach to these implants. We use All-On-4 dental implants as an alternative to single dental implants that require individual implants for each tooth.

The process for All-On-4 Dental Implants

The surgery for Ventura All-On-4 dental implants takes about 2.5 hours for each portion of your mouth. If you need upper and lower arch implants, we can place all your implant root replacements in one procedure.

Before your surgery, we take 3D pictures and scans of your jawbone so that we can decide where to place your All-On-4 dental implants. Using these images, we digitally manipulate your implants so that we can see what placement provides the most support. You’ll receive anesthesia before your surgery to minimize your pain and keep you comfortable. We then implant the artificial roots into your jawbone.

Your implants will hold temporary replacement teeth until they heal. Then, we’ll attach your permanent teeth after complete healing. What to expect after your All-On-4 Dental Implant procedure The anesthesia for your All-On-4 dental implants in Ventura will leave you feeling groggy and disoriented; recruit a friend or family member to bring you to your appointment and drive you home. Follow a soft food diet for while your jawbone heals. It can take six to eight months for your mouth to completely heal after your surgery.

How do all-on-4 dental implants improve your oral health?

Ventura All-On-4 dental implants replace your missing teeth so that you’re less likely to experience dental problems related to your teeth loss. Without a tooth’s roots to stimulate your jawbone, the bone mass will begin to break down. This affects the health of your other teeth and makes you more susceptible to tooth loss and gum recession. All-On-4 dental implants will prevent further bone deterioration and lower your chances of experiencing future dental problems.

What are the benefits of all-on-4 dental implants?

All-On-4 dental implants in Ventura have multiple benefits:

They require less bone mass

Some patients aren’t good candidates for conventional implants because they don’t have the jawbone density to support implants with individual roots. Since Ventura All-On-4 dental implants permit a lower level of bone density, we can use them for patients who otherwise wouldn’t be eligible for dental implants.

All-On-4 Dental Implants have a high success rate

Statistically, All-On-4 dental implants are likely to be a successful dental procedure. All dental implants have the potential to “fail.” This means that they don’t properly attach to your jawbone or that the bone doesn’t heal correctly. However, with proper dental hygiene at home and regular dental visits, dental implants have a success rate of 94% and higher.

Your dental implants function like natural teeth

All-On-4 dental implants look and work like your own teeth. They always stay firmly in place to assist you with eating, chewing, and speaking.

You’re less likely to need a bone graft

Unfortunately, many patients require a bone graft to qualify for traditional dental implants. Ventura bar attachment dentures are placed at a unique angle that permits a lower level of bone mass.
